Maintenance
Ditchley is costly to run – a three-century old Grade I listed building has many quirks and surprises, and repairs and improvements must meet stringent guidelines issued by various heritage bodies. In 2008 nearly £400 every day was spent on basic utilities and essential repairs and an experienced Bursary and establishment staff are kept very busy.
A legacy for the maintenance fund will preserve the integrity of our historic buildings for the future and keep rooms and fittings to a high standard. It will also help to insulate us against the financial shock of emergency repairs, and encourage us to bring forward more complex renovation and energy efficiency projects.
