New Deputy Director appointed

Published: Thursday, 29th September 2011

Nina Tomlin has now left the post of Deputy Director to take up a new and challenging role on the international affairs side of Oxford University.  She takes with her our very best wishes after an extremely effective and successful four and a half years at Ditchley.

We are delighted to have appointed an excellent successor in Sarah Puntan-Galea.  Sarah joined us on 27 Sarah Puntan-GaleaSeptember from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, where she has spent the past two years working at the High Commission in Malta as a Political Attaché covering all EU affairs including climate/energy security; she also ran the Economic/Commercial Section. Sarah graduated with a degree in Political Science from Liverpool University in 1997 (where she was also the student union President, and was awarded a medal for her services to the city), before studying for a journalism postgraduate diploma (NCTJ) in London, and later foreign policy economics at the LSE.  Her first job was for Sky TV, where she rose to Assistant Producer, before switching to print journalism, working as a business journalist for Unilever in London.  She has since worked as a Political Correspondent for The Malta Independent; Assistant Editor at The Sunday Times of Malta; and Editor of The Sunday Times of Malta magazine, Sunday Circle, for three years (awarded Magazine of the Year for each of those years by the Media Warehouse Survey).  She was also a Columnist at the Economic Update, winning the Institute of Maltese Journalists’ Columnist of the Year in 2008 for her ‘Dinner Table Politics’.

We bid Sarah a very warm welcome!
