Francis Finlay to chair F&GP; Committee

Published: Friday, 17th July 2009

Francis Finlay has been appointed as Anthony Loehnis’s successor as Chairman of the Finance and General Purposes Committee, the body which provides financial and administrative oversight for the Ditchley Foundation. We are immensely pleased that Francis, a Governor of the Foundation since 2004 and a Director of the Board of the American Ditchley Foundation, has decided to take on this role.

A director of several international investment companies, Francis also serves on a number of endowment investment committees including those of Oxford University and the British Museum – an area of expertise which is of great relevance to the financial health of the Foundation.

Francis co-founded the New York-based institutional investment house Clay Finlay in 1982 and led it until March 2006, having previously held senior investment positions at Morgan Guaranty Trust in New York and Lazard Frères in New York and Paris.

Currently Francis is Co-Chairman of the EastWest Institute, a Trustee  of the British Museum, a Governor of the London Business School and a Trustee of the Institute for Strategic Dialogue.
